By addressing the pain points in the traditional renovation process and offering an affordable, accessible solution, Modulor tried to redefine the homeowner's renovation experience.

Plybox is an online platform to create customizable, modular furniture from a set of standard plywood components. An intuitive online platform allows customers to design and personalise furniture to fit their specific space requirements and aesthetic preferences. Users can adjust dimensions, colors, and configurations in real-time using an online configurator.

Design Automation


Leveraged BIM softwares to streamline design, manufacturing, and assembly processes. This approach enables the automatic generation of design and structural options based on specific parameters such as dimensions, layouts, and geometric preferences.



Design Standardisation


Adopted a strategic approach to create a set of highly detailed standardized components, organized in a 3D digital library and used as a "kit of parts" for quick and easy digital assembly. This kit has effectively improved live scheduling, procurement, and routing in the factory, enhancing efficiency and consistency.



Design, Manufacture, Assembly


Implemented an engineering approach focused on designing components to simplify manufacturing and assembly processes. The goal was to reduce costs, minimize waste, and streamline production by optimizing designs for efficient fabrication and easier assembly.



Robotic Fabrication


Modelled in 3D the entire factory layout for the robotic fabrication of volumetric housing. The factory operates at a Tier 1 level and is planned to be the largest in Europe, featuring high automation and advanced robotics with minimal manual intervention.



Online Configurator


Contributed to the online platform by creating all 3D models and components. The system revolutionise production by automating BOMs and drawings generation. Planned to seamlessly integrate with the factory, handling complex house designs and streamlining the design-to-manufacture workflow with speed and precision.



School of Management - 2021


The new School of Management at the University of Bath is a modern facility designed to support research and teaching for business and management students. Designed by Hopkins Architects, the building features a modular facade, central atrium, flexible teaching spaces, Harvard-style lecture theatre, and over 140 offices. I was involved in various aspects of the project, from planning application, technical details, and all the way to tender.



The Peninsula Hotel - 2023


The Peninsula Hotel London, is a luxury development situated near Hyde Park Corner. Designed by Hopkins Architects, the project features guest rooms, private residences, several high-end facilities and extensive staff provisions. I was involved in both BOH and FOH parts of the project.



Technical Design


Developed external envelope packages for façade system, including prefab modules, curtain wall-glazing units, and roof drainage design for a project in the educational sector. Specialised in technical design for detailed joinery, walls, floors and ceilings packages for high-spec commercial project.



Project Coordination


Led BIM packages and coordinated across multidisciplinary teams, including structural, MEP, and client representatives, ensuring smooth project delivery from concept to construction stages.



Construction


Actively involved in the construction phase for Front of House and Back of House areas for large commercial project. Maintained constant interaction with project managers, design consultants, and construction trades.





Online Platform


Developed an intuitive online platform to streamline the home renovation process by integrating 3D scanning, 3D modeling, interactive design tools, and step-by-step guidance. This platform enabled users to visualize renovation options in real-time, customize designs to their preferences, and navigate the renovation journey with ease, significantly enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.



Building Information Modeling


Utilised Revit to enhance design and planning of small-scale house renovation projects. By creating detailed 3D models with standardised components and accurate data, the process became repeatable and scalable, reducing errors and enabling precise material estimation. This streamlined the workflow from concept to construction, ensuring efficient project execution in terms of budget and timelines.



3D Scanning


Integrated affordable 3D scanning technology to accurately capture existing property dimensions and features. This precise data was utilized to create detailed 3D models, allowing for more accurate design customization and reducing the likelihood of errors during the renovation planning process.



3D Modelling


Leveraged Revit and Enscape to create immersive 3D models of residential properties. These digital replicas facilitated enhanced visualization and planning, enabling clients to interact with every aspect of their renovation project virtually.



3D Rendering


Produced high-quality 3D renders and realistic visualizations of proposed renovation designs. These detailed images and walkthroughs were instrumental in decision-making processes, marketing efforts, and in effectively communicating design intent to clients.



Product Development


Created an innovative modular flatpack furniture system that allows endless expansion and reconfiguration, much like LEGO pieces. Designed a core set of just 10 components that can generate hundreds of unique furniture designs, offering customers unparalleled customization and adaptability.



Online Configurator


Developed a user-friendly online configurator that enables customers to design bespoke furniture pieces from sheets of plywood. The platform translates designs into CNC-ready files, streamlining the production process without the need for owning manufacturing equipment or holding inventory.



Coding


Enhanced coding proficiency by learning JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with the assistance of Copilot. Applied these skills to build and refine the online configurator, enabling dynamic user interactions and a seamless design experience. Demonstrated the ability to self-learn and implement new technologies to drive product innovation.
